Good morning crafty friends.
I’m sorry that I’ve been a bit absent in my blog for the last couple of months, I’ve been having a few health issues which have limited my crafting time but hopefully I’m on the mend now and I’ll be back to posting weekly soon.
This months Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe grid had been chosen by the talented Fiona Whitehead who is both my lovely friend and the brains behind this challenge blog.
(To find all of the information about #JOSTTT009 just click here.)
Fiona celebrates her 24th Wedding Anniversary this month and the elements she has chosen for the grid reflect this.
We are also teaming up with ‘Try Stampin’ on Tuesday’ #TSOT424 sketch challenge which is run by our own design team member Kaylin Krawcyzk.
This is the Sketch that Kaylin has chosen for her challenge and you can find all of the information about her challenge group here .
Taking part is really easy and you can join in with #JOSTTT009 by using just the Tic Tac Toe grid or if you want to join in with both challenges just use both Fiona’s grid and also Kaylin’s sketch and follow the instructions on each of the blogs to enter.
Taking part is lots of fun and a great way to set yourself a crafty challenge.
In order to join in with both the challenges this month I have resisted the temptation to create another 3D project and have instead followed the sketch to create a card.
The line I chose to follow from the Joy of Sets grid is the centre vertical line ‘Heart, Music, Glitter’.
To add the glitter element from the grid I used this fabulous glitter card which was a recent purchase from my local Hobbycraft superstore here in the UK. It die cuts beautifully and has a pink/silver/blue Ombre effect, the picture doesn’t really do it justice at all. They have the same card in lots of different colour ways and I think that a few more of them are going to find their way into my card stash.
I tried to stick as closely as I could to the #TSOT424 sketch changing the ‘circle’ to a ‘heart’ to tie in with our grid and also adding sentiments. I have to admit I had a few issues with the sentiment, if I was making it again I think I would try to create a sentiment which is the first line or a phrase from an appropriate or favourite song. I would also possibly replace the ‘heart’ with a Vinyl record diecut to tie in more with the musical notes.
Thanks for taking the time to join us at #JOSTTT009 and reading my blog today. As always, I love to hear your feedback and ideas on the projects I share so please pop a comment in the section below if you have any thoughts.
There are lots of other gorgeous projects to browse on both of these fabulous challenge blogs so if you have a bit of free time why not grab a cuppa, pop over and have a browse through them, I’m sure you’ll find lots to inspire you there.
